Course description |
The course gives an introduction to working with R efficiently. Among other topics, data import, basic data manipulation and data visualization are discussed. In addition, the course shows how to conduct and interpret commonly used statistical methods (especially linear regression) in an example-driven way. When possible, brief insights into specialized packages (e.g., knitr, ggplot2, etc.) will be included. The course requires no previous experience with R, but participants are expected to have at least basic knowledge of statistics (to the extent of, e.g., an introductory lecture). The statistical basics will be briefly repeated with a focus on linear regression. For all Zurich R Courses participants should bring their own laptops to the course and will be informed by email in advance which packages they need to install. |
